But seeing as the film is titled Love, Rosie the film focuses more on Rosie :’) But, like Rosie, he goes through a lot too. Alex is goofy at times and it’s adorable.
I mean, what do you expect?! :’) Frankly, Ditter couldn’t have cast two perfect leads! They have really great chemistry together, they work well with each other. Sam Claflin is also a delight in this film. She had my hearts in knots at some points. Lily actually said at the Apple Store she’s never allowed herself to be this vulnerable on screen, which I completely agree with. Rosie goes through a hell of a lot and it’s hard to picture anyone else playing the role.
I’ve seen her in Stuck In Love, Mirror, Mirror, The Mortal Instruments and The English Teacher. The acting blows everything out of the water though, HOOOOLY SMOKES. It’s not a proper cheesy film, ya know? It’s a cute film but it has it’s hilarious moments too!
It’s a really fast paced film, it’s a quick film! The directing was solid. The film is set in England instead of Ireland. In the film, we see them as kids but Lily and Sam only play ages from 18 to 28. For example, in the book we follow Alex and Rosie from ages 5 to 50. They both stand alone very well though! You could see it without reading the book, as the film is basically a cut down version of the book. Plot: “ Rosie and Alex have been best friends since they were 5, so they couldn’t possibly be right for one another…or could they?
